The 2012 BMW 528i xDrive is difficult to maintain. The entire housing must be removed in order to access the headlight, which will first require multiple panel removals as well as the grille and the bumper and make for an incredibly time-consuming process. Checking the oil level may be a problem as you will have to do so electronically, and the menu doesn’t have an intuitive set-up. The cabin air filter won’t allow for reliable changes on account of the awkward position you’ll need to work in to access it.
However, the 2012 BMW 528i xDrive does have its upsides. The engine coolant reservoir has open access, allowing you to reliably monitor the fluid levels. Checking the fuses won’t be a problem, and the engine fuse box comes with a fuse puller for your convenience. The engine air filter is easy to each once a sway bar is removed.
