The 2011 BMW 128i is a moderately easy car to maintain. No tools are needed to access most of the vehicle’s rear lights, which makes for very reliable bulb changes. The fog light is also easy to by simply reaching behind its bulb housing. Although it is located in the trunk it shouldn’t be a problem to access the battery, which has very open access for its bracket, sway bar, and remote terminals.
However, the 2011 BMW 128i isn’t free of problems. The engine air filter has a very convoluted set-up which will require multiple tools and a lot of time to change. The headlight and highbeam are located in a cramped area with multiple fastener removals necessary, which won’t make changing them a reliable process. Accessing the petcock may prove problematic, as it is located behind a large panel underneath the vehicle that may be cumbersome to navigate around.
