The 2016 Honda HR-V EX is a relatively easy SUV to maintain, and shouldn’t be too hard to maintain for even the average SUV owner. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners in order to access the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The headlight is easy to access and change on this vehicle. You only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency.

Some things are more problematic on the 2016 Honda HR-V EX. You will have to completely remove the tail light housing in order to change many of the tail light bulbs. This will require a few tools to complete with reliability. The engine coolant fluid reservoir is not overly visible on this vehicle. This can make it tough to keep an eye on the fluid level. You will have to lower the glove box in order to access the cabin air filter. This would have been much easier if there were a designated panel in the rear of the glove box for access.
