The 2013 Honda Insight LX is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, but does have a few problematic aspects that can make home maintenance time consuming. To access the oil drain plug with reliability, you will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle. This will force you to use a few tools, and contend with gravity as you complete this repair. Changing the front and rear wiper blades can create a problem, as you will need to use a panel tool, or screwdriver, in order to pry up the tab for access to the blade. You will have to remove the tail light housing completely in order to access the tail light bulbs. This will require a few tools you may not have readily available for a repair.
Some things are easier on the 2013 Honda Insight LX. Changing the headlight reliably is easy to do, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. The engine air filter is easy to remove on this vehicle. You only have to disengage a few fasteners to lift the cover, and these fasteners are easy to disengage. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
