The 2011 Dodge Journey Mainstreet is a relatively difficult car to maintain, but a good choice for the experienced car owner. This vehicle does not come equipped with a transmission fluid dipstick. Instead it includes a reservoir cap, which itself is a problem to reliably access. You will have to take the Dodge Journey into a dealer to check the fluid level. To access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from under the vehicle first. This can be tough, as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time and be difficult to turn. To replace the cabin air filter, you will have to lower the glove box for access. This would have been much easier if there were a panel in the rear of the glove box that was designated for access.
Some things are easier to repair on the 2011 Dodge Journey. To access the headlight bulb on this vehicle, you only have to reach behind the bulb housing for access. Both the front and rear wiper blades are easy to replace on this vehicle. Other models will require the use of tools in order to replace the wiper blades, so it’s a nice touch to be able to change these blades with just your hands. Checking the oil level is easy to do, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay.
