The 2009 Dodge Journey SE is a difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to someone capable of vehicle maintenance. Changing the headlight can be difficult, as you will have to peel back the wheel well lining for access. This lining can be a problem, as it can grow tight to the vehicle over time. The battery on this van is one of the hardest to access or replace on any make or model. You will have to remove one of the wheels and the lining for access to the battery, which itself is positioned in a tight spot. You will have to lower the spare tire from under the vehicle in order to access it. This can be a problem, as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle and be difficult to turn.
Some things are easier on the 2009 Dodge Journey SE. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter.
