The 2009 Cadillac DTS Premium is a relatively difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to someone experienced in vehicle maintenance. The headlight is extremely difficult to change. You will have to use many tools in order to reliably complete many steps in order to even access the headlight housing for removal. Other models make this much simpler. You will have to reach through the wheel well lining in order to access the fog light. This can be tough, as the lining can grow tight to the vehicle and be difficult to peel back. To access the lower radiator hose for a coolant drain, you will have to remove a large panel from under the vehicle first. This will require you to contend with gravity as you complete.
Some things are less of a problem on the 2009 Cadillac DTS Premium. The cabin air filter is easy to access, as you only have to remove one cover to change the filter. This cover is easy to remove. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle. This keeps the tire and jack kit ready to go in case of emergency. Checking and replenishing the brake fluid level is easy to do, as the fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay.
