The 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is an easy vehicle to maintain. All of the headlights (except the actual headlight itself) can be accessed by reaching behind their bulb housings, allowing for reliable bulb changes. Accessing the tail lights isn’t a problem, as the screws that secure the housing disconnect easily and the housing itself pivots out with ease. The transmission fluid dipstick is also quick to find, easy to remove, and simple to read its level markers.
However, the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon has its downsides. The air filter housing and power steering fluid reservoir need to be removed to access the headlight on the passenger side, which won’t allow for a reliable bulb change. Accessing the jack kit and spare tire may be a problem, as they’re located in cramped positions and tightly secured to the vehicle. The battery also has obstructed access and may prove difficult to replace.
