The 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE is a very difficult car to maintain, due to the difficult of the headlight access. This car is only recommended for someone capable of tough car maintenance. Changing the headlight is extremely complicated. You will have to remove many components, and complete many steps in order to reliably remove the bulb housing. Other trucks make this access much less of a problem. To access the lower radiator hose for a coolant change, you will have to remove a panel from under the vehicle. You will need to use a few tools, and crawl under the truck, in order to complete. To remove the battery on this vehicle, you will have to remove a sway bar first. An extra step you won’t find on other models.
Some things are easier on the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. The fog light is extremely easy to replace, as you only have to reach underneath the vehicle for access to the bulb. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Other trucks do not include this dipstick. The brake fluid level is easy to check. The fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay, allowing you to easily check and replenish the fluid level.
