The 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT is a more difficult car to maintain. The battery is difficult to reach and a problem to remove, as it is located behind the driver side front tire which you will have to remove in order to access it. This is far more complicated access than on any other models. You will have to remove a few bolts in order to take the bulb housing out for access to the headlight bulb. Other models make this access much easier. The engine air filter is more complicated to remove than on other models. You will need to remove a few bolts and fasteners for access, and these fasteners are tougher to disengage than usual.
Some things are easier to maintain on the 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible on this vehicle. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level more reliably. Checking the transmission fluid level is easy to do, as the fluid dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. Not every model includes this dipstick. Both the engine and interior fuse boxes are easy to access on this vehicle. You only have to remove one cover to access either set of fuses, allowing you to troubleshoot electrical problems easily.
