The 2005 Volvo S40 i is a problematic car to maintain on account of its many complicated procedures. The fog lights, petcock, and oil drain plug can only be reliably accessed once a large panel is removed from underneath the vehicle; the air filter intake vent will need to be removed before the oil filter can be accessed; and, the cabin air filter is located in an unusual place, tightly wedged into a corner that’s obstructed by multiple panels.
However, there are some highlights to the 2005 Volvo S40 i. All of its tail lights are located in a single bulb assembly that’s easy to access in the trunk. Its spare tire and jack kit are conveniently packaged together, allowing it to be removed quickly in the event of a flat. Its engine air filter also slides out easily after a couple of screws are removed, allowing for quick replacement when necessary.
