The 2003 Lincoln Aviator is a moderately easy car to repair when compared to other similar models. The battery is easy to remove, as the battery bracket that secures the battery is itself secured by one easy-to-remove bolt. Removing the air filter is easy as there are only two fasteners that secure the housing, making a quick filter change easy. Changing the wiper blades is easy to do as you can remove the blade with just your hands. Other vehicles will require you to use tools to replace the wiper blades.

Not everything is easy on the 2003 Lincoln Aviator. To access the headlight, you will have to remove a panel as well as multiple fasteners for access. This is tougher access than you’ll find on other vehicles. In order to access the spare tire, you will have to lower it from beneath the vehicle. This can be tough as the lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time. Checking the engine coolant fluid level is tough, as the coolant reservoir is not easily visible in the engine bay.
