The 2002 Volvo S80 2.9 is an easy car to maintain. The headlights require very few tools for access, allowing for reliable bulb changes when necessary. The tail lights have very easy access through the trunk, not requiring any tools for removal. The engine air filter can be accessed without the use of any tools, either, which makes changing the filter free from any major problems.
However, the 2002 Volvo S80 does have its downsides. The cabin air filter is located behind multiple panels underneath the glove box, which may prove to be problem to access. The lower radiator hose will need to be disconnected to drain the radiator’s fluid, which is a less reliable way of monitoring the fluid levels than a petcock would’ve been. The oil drain plug and oil filter are located behind a large panel underneath the vehicle, which can be a problem to remove and navigate around.
