The 2002 BMW 530i is an easy vehicle to maintain. The cabin air filters elements are easy to change, with housing covers that disengage without the use of any tools. Similarly, no tools are needed to access all of the headlights in the main housing, while the side markers pry out of the vehicle without a problem. The tail lights are also reliable to access behind a single panel in the trunk, which makes changing them a hassle-free procedure.
However, the 2002 BMW 530i has its downsides. The battery is located in the trunk and offers a rather cramped reach for its bracket, which won’t allow for reliable access. Accessing the fog lights may be a problem on account of the tools and panel removals necessary to reach them. The engine coolant reservoir relies on a buoy system to monitor the fluid, which isn’t as convenient as traditional level markers.
