The 2001 Volvo V70 is a moderately easy vehicle to maintain. Most of the headlights are accessible by simply reaching behind the bulb housing, allowing for reliable changes. The tail lights are located behind a few easy-to-remove panels in the trunk and can generally be accessed without a problem. The engine air filter can be changed with ease, as no tools are needed to disengage the housing to access the filter.
However, the 2001 Volvo V70 has its challenges. The washer fluid reservoir needs to be removed to access the parking light on the passenger side, hampering the reliability of a bulb replacement. Accessing the cabin air filter may be a problem as multiple torx bolts and panels underneath the glove box will have to be removed in order to reach it. The transmission fluid dipstick is located deep in the engine bay, and reaching for it may prove dangerous.
