The 2001 Nissan Frontier SE is a difficult truck to maintain. To access all of the headlights their entire bulb housings will need to be disconnected from the vehicle, which won’t allow for reliable bulb changes. The tail lights have a similar access problem, except the bed liner of the truck will need to be removed before the bolts that secure the housing can be reached. Checking the transmission fluid level may also be a problem on account of the dipstick being located deep in the engine bay.
However, the 2001 Nissan Frontier does have its high points. Checking the power steering fluid is no problem on account of its very open access. The oil dipstick is easy to access as well, allowing you to reliably monitor your oil level. Changing the engine air filter is also no problem, as no tools are needed to disengage the housing to access the filter itself.
