The 2000 Peugeot 406 LX HDi is a moderately difficult car to maintain. Access to the headlights on the passenger’s side will require the removal of multiple engine parts, and the fog lights on both sides will require a large panel underneath the vehicle to be removed. That same panel needs to be removed to reach both the oil drain plug and oil filter, which doesn’t allow for reliable access. Accessing the cabin air filter could prove to be a problem, as it’s in a tight location and will require tools to be removed.
However, the 2000 Peugeot 406 LX HDi has its high points. The battery is quick to find with both an easy-to-access bracket and terminals. The spare tire and jack kit are conveniently packaged together, allowing for reliable access and set-up when necessary. Refilling the brake fluid reservoir shouldn’t be a problem, as it’s quick to find with relatively open access.
