The engine air filter also can’t be reliably changed, given the strange set-up and bulky design. Replacing the battery may prove to be a problem given the obstructed location and overall cramped reach.
However, the 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera has its upsides. The front turn signal can be accessed by simply reaching behind the front bumper, allowing for reliable bulb changes. Though you will need to remove the entire bulb housing for access, the tail light housing removes easily without the use of any tools. Checking the transmission fluid is no problem, as the dipstick is quick to find, easy to remove, and simple to read the level markers.
