The 1995 BMW 540i is a moderately difficult car to maintain. To reach the battery you will need to remove the entire rear seat, which doesn’t allow for reliable access. The same is true for the petcock, which requires a large panel to be removed from underneath the vehicle and will be a further tight reach. Changing the fog lights could be a problem, as their convoluted set-up and awkward location will provide you with very limited visibility.

However, the 1995 BMW 540i does have its upsides. The center brake light has reliable access on the top of the trunk and can be removed without any tools. The brake fluid reservoir has very open access, so monitoring its fluid levels shouldn’t be a problem. The engine air filter is easy to replace, with a housing and fasteners that disconnect in a flash.
