The 2006 Saturn Ion-3 is an easy vehicle to maintain. The cover for the engine air filter can be pried off with relative ease, allowing for reliable filter changes. Replacing the front turn signal won’t be a problem as the bulb is accessible by simply reaching behind the bulb housing. The spare tire and jack kit are packaged together in the trunk, making for quick access in the event of a flat.
However, the 2006 Saturn Ion-3 does have its downsides, primarily with its lights. The remainder of the headlights will require the entire bulb housing to be removed, not allowing for reliable changes. You will need a torx wrench to reach the tail lights, which is a tool you may not have readily available. Checking the transmission fluid may be a problem as the cap is positioned deep in the engine bay and lacks a dipstick.
